The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our talented finance team in Macquarie Park, Sydney, as a Financial Accountant, following an internal promotion.
In this role, you will play a key part in:
- Driving improvements in processes, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Supporting the broader finance group with financial accounting expertise.
- Coordinating and finalizing month-end processes.
- Preparing statutory accounts within required timelines.
Key Responsibilities include:
Strategic Contributions:
- Support the preparation of stand-alone and consolidated statutory accounts.
- Contribute to due diligence and integration of business acquisitions and disposals.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
- Undertake ad hoc tasks and special projects as required.
Technical Deliverables:
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end, half-year, and year-end financial accounts.
- Provide guidance on technical accounting standards to internal stakeholders.
- Manage the lease register and related accounting processes.
- Assist in delivering consolidated monthly group financial results.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy.
- Support the annual external audit process.
About You
- Commerce or Accounting degree with a CA / CPA Qualified is essential.
- Big 4 experience is essential.
- Proficiency in technical accounting, reporting, and SAP - BPC is advantageous.
- Strong financial acumen with excellent analysis, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience with offshore accounting teams and excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Proactive, autonomous, and capable of seeing the bigger picture.
