We are currently looking for a Baker to join us at our Winnellie site. The overall purpose of this position is to prepare dough's, assist with weigh up, run the divider, oven, and proofer and run and set up the plant in accordance with Goodman Fielder policies and procedures. Reporting into the Production Team Manager, you will work as part of a large production team to ensure that our bread products are produced in a safe, timely and cost effective manner that meets quality and food safety standards.


This is a permanent, full-time position working 5am to 3pm Wednesday to Saturday


Key responsibilities for the Baker include:


  • Ensure the efficient production of all bread varieties according to daily orders while maintaining product quality standards
  • Working safely at all times, following SOPs and producing product to quality standards
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area, and keeping timely and accurate documentation
  • Contributing to any safety, quality or continuous improvement ideas
  • Ensure machines are set up correctly
  • Carry out basic ingredient preparation
  • Prepare dough sheets
  • Maintain mixing area and surrounds to comply with HACCP/ GMP/ hygiene and OH&S standards
  • Continually monitor dough demand of the line
  • Continually monitor dough consistency and adjust accordingly
  • Ensure minimal waste, and correct recording and disposal of waste
  • Participate where required in the resolution of safety issues.


Ideally the successful candidate will have:


  • Baking qualifications (essential)
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and verbal communication skills
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred but not essential
  • Experience in food handling/food processing, with HACCP awareness
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, and to make decisions in all types of situations
  • A focus on safe working practices
