The Emerging Market business' regional office is based in Singapore and is responsible for the sales management and distribution of Goodman Fielder products to the world.   We currently export from both Australia and New Zealand to over 25 countries worldwide, into the retail, food service and industrial channels.   This role will also support the sales offices in Hong Kong and Philippines that are part of the Emerging Market team.  The Goodman Fielder Ingredients business is also domiciled in Singapore, and this role will also oversee the financial reporting controls for this business.

We are currently recruiting a Financial Controller based in Singapore. This position will be a key finance partner to the General Manager, Emerging markets and support the Emerging Markets team members, based in Singapore, Hong Kong and Philippines.  The Financial Controller will provide strong analytical support, to enable good decision making in a fast paced environment and will enhance the high performance culture of the Emerging Markets' group.  In addition the Financial Controller will take full responsibility for the Statutory obligations of the entities.


You will be responsible for:

  • Proactive development of initiatives to increase sales, improve margin and expand product range.
  • Provide robust financials and analysis to validate and enable decision making.
  • Analyse and advise on risks and opportunities in meeting the five year strategic plan
  • Be a strong financial/business partner to the    team to deliver performance against business targets at volumes, net sales CBM & EBIT
  • Provide support in evaluation of New Product Developments (NPD) & price proposals to improve business performance
  • Effectively educate/train/influence business partners on customer/product profitability
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts for Emerging Markets team
  • Completion of all statutory obligations for the entities, including Financial Statements and Tax returns, and any other local filings, ensuring compliance with Head office Sydney deadlines.
  • ‘Ownership of Balance Sheet reconciliations for all entities.
  • Ownership of relationship with local auditors, and tax advisers for all markets.



To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Strategic mindset
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP, BPC and BW (incl COPA allocations) as well as strong excel skills
  • Experience in Commercial/Finance roles with business partnering experience
  • Finance/Commerce degree qualified
  • Post Graduate Chartered Accountant qualification
  • Financial modelling & evaluation understanding.
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills
  • Self-motivated candidate who will be fully accountable for the business
  • Able to collaborate and communicate with business partners based abroad
