Goodman Fielder is a leading regional food company across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. We have a portfolio of iconic and trusted brands that Australians have grown up with and put in their supermarket trolleys every week, including Helga's, Wonder White, Praise, White Wings, MeadowLea, and many more. Our vision is to be the leading and most innovative local food company, creating food that people love.

In March 2015 Goodman Fielder was acquired by Wilmar International and First Pacific. In partnership we have a strong platform of brands and combined horsepower. Wilmar International has over 450 manufacturing plants and an extensive distribution network covering China, India, Indonesia and some 50 other countries. First Pacific owns 50% of Indonesia's largest food company, Indofood.

We are currently experiencing times of change and growth with continued capital investment across our business which only means one thing – Exciting times. Due to an internal promotion we are currently looking for a motivated leader to run our Darwin site. This is a key leadership role, with the opportunity to make your mark within the business and help transform our bakeries as we move into a new, more efficient manufacturing process.

Specifically, you will:

  • Inspire your team through coaching and strong leadership in order to build a high performing leadership team that drives performance and culture
  • Implement standards, programs, and processes to optimise the use of our workforce in order to achieve and exceed safety, quality, production and cost targets
  • Manage the site budget, and lead the GF Continuous Improvement process as you build an ongoing engaged culture of improvement and accountability at all levels
  • Develop the Site Strategic Plan in line with the overarching company vision and identify/execute actions to support this strategy.
  • Implement ‘best practice' initiatives to achieve world class production performance.  Work closely with other sites to leverage knowledge.
  • Build and maintain positive industrial relationships

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven manufacturing experience, including managing a high volume manufacturing facility
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and influencing skills, with a drive to succeed through times of change
  • Related industry experience (preferably within the chemical/food/dairy/beverage industry), with exposure to Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • An ability to work under pressure, in a heavily unionised industry with multiple priorities and projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet agreed deadlines
  • Excellent written & verbal skills

This is a highly visible role, with the opportunity to really take your career, and the Winnellie site, to the next level.

At Goodman Fielder, we aim to be a destination employer in the food industry where we don't just offer jobs - we offer long term careers.
