The Opportunity

We are seeking an Engineering Supervisor to undertake plant maintenance and supervise the maintenance engineers at our Puhoi Valley Cheese Factory site.  

As one of four Maintenance Engineers you will be responsible for delivering planned maintenance, resolving equipment breakdowns, delivering improvement projects and monitoring system performance.    

As Engineering Supervisor you will provide leadership and technical support to the three other Maintenance Engineers to ensure all engineering activities are undertaken to the required Technical, Quality and Safety standards and optimize production efficiency.

To achieve this, your responsibilities will include:

• Ensure plant availability and reliability through maintenance and repairs to manufacturing equipment.
• Liaison with Production to co-ordinate engineering activities.
• Monitor engineering work to ensure compliance with Goodman Fielder policies and procedures and industry standards.
• Supporting cost control and decision making to manage the site R&M budget, including providing input into capital projects, along with project planning and execution.

Is this the right role for you?

To make this role a success we are looking for an experienced and registered Electrician that has site supervision experience. Experience in the maintenance of food manufacturing plant (preferably Dairy) and equipment would be highly beneficial.

What we would like to see in your application:

• Current NZ Electrical Practicing License and solid electrical maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with continuous high-speed processing and packaging equipment
• Demonstration of your ability to work under pressure to resolve technical challenges (e.g. production equipment breakdowns)
• Industrial controls and automation experience
• PLC programming and fault-finding skills would be advantageous
