Our Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated team at our Meadow Fresh dairy manufacturing site in Longburn, Palmerston North. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will provide high quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on improving the operational effectiveness of the site.

Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 x days 5am -5pm, 2 x nights 12pm - 12am Monday - Thursday / 10.30am – 10.30pm Friday - Sunday)

Key accountabilities of the role include:

• Undertake scheduled planned maintenance tasks including planned activities
• Attend and resolve unplanned maintenance tasks including breakdowns
• Ensure machinery and plant is maintained to ensure optimum performance
• Perform general mechanical, motor and conveyor repairs
• Maintain all site engineering documentation and plant logs, ensuring accuracy and up to date information is available at all times.
• Drive factory quality and SHE standards to ensure and demonstrate continued and sustainable improvement in safety for the site
• Assist in preparing site when required for external and regulatory audits

The successful applicant will have:

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• GMP and food safety understanding (desirable)
• Strong root cause analysis for timely breakdown resolutions
• HS&E knowledge, including machinery guarding
• Experience in Food and FMCG manufacturing (desirable)
