Our Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Product Development Technologist to join our Research and development Baking & Ingredients team in Auckland. 

As the PD Tech, you will play both a hands-on role in supporting the product development of our Baking & Ingredients business, ensuring operational production continues with ingredient approvals , and also learn our systems we run to keep our factories and production running day to day.

As the PDT your role will be to:

• Help create lab concepts and feed into wider team's projects
• Conduct robust bench, pilot plant trials, and ensure quality standards are achieved
• Make bench top samples for your own and wider teams projects
• Assist in keeping our recipe development system and lab in great functioning order
• Support Senior Development Technologists on product improvement, new product development and cost saving projects to specified outcomes
• Initiate and prepare sensory testing
• Travel to sites to assist in trials.
• Help with new ingredient approvals for sits and our ingredients business.
• Support and run research and development initiatives.

About You

• A desire to grow your Food Tech skills (essential)
• Tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Sciences (essential)
• Industrial Baking or practical cooking skills is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Hands on aptitude with confidence in factory environment and lab concept work.
• Confident and resourceful personality who can handle a fast based complex business environment.
• An ability to lead and manage projects and manage key deadlines
