About the Role

We are looking for a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Coordinator to join our Yoplait dairy manufacturing site in Palmerston North. As the HSE Coordinator you will drive a safety culture across all parts of the site; maintain compliance and drive Goodman Fielder's commitment to Safety.

To make this happen, your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and drive HSE improvement through supporting the implementation of risk reduction initiatives
• Conduct safety training across the site including safety inductions for new starters and contractors
• Undertake Safety Walks and work site inspections including hazard reporting/identification
• Undertake investigations of Safety or Risk incidents and near-misses
• Maintenance of H&S documentation and registers and site safety plan

Note: This is a maternity leave cover contract till late September 2026. It is a part-time role (between 24 – 30 hours per week) and we have flexibility to work with your schedule. It is a fixed-term contract but we are also open to  contractor applications.  

About You

For this role to be a success you will be a HSE professional that is passionate about Safety and driving a Safety first culture.

Skillsets, qualifications and experience we are looking for include:

• Some prior experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental role with an understanding of NZ OH&S
• Holder of or working towards relevant HSE certification or qualifications
• Experience of working in a Risk environment or manufacturing industry would be beneficial
• Risk assessment experience & development of SOP's) and auditing experience
• Can do attitude.
