The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Category Manager – Baking to join our newly formed Category & Revenue Growth Management team in Auckland.
This role sits at the forefront of how Goodman Fielder uses data, AI and insight-led thinking to drive smarter decisions, unlock category growth and shape the future of the Baking category.
In this high-profile role, You'll drive sustainable revenue and profitable growth across both branded and private label portfolios, translating complex data into clear, compelling narratives that influence customers, internal teams and strategic direction. This is a high-visibility role where your ability to connect insights to action will directly impact category, brand and customer outcomes.
What you will do
- Lead category insight and analytics to drive fact-based decisions and portfolio performance
- Shape the Baking category strategy, including price pack architecture and innovation pipeline
- Build compelling category stories for NPD, customer reviews and strategic initiatives
- Champion AI-enabled insights, advanced analytics and smarter decision-making tools
- Partner with Sales and retailers through category reviews and Joint Business Planning to deliver profitable growth
What you will bring
- Proven experience in Category Management in a FMCG environment – with exposure to Sales or Marketing
- Advanced capability with Nielsen, IRI, Homescan and shopper insight tools
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, influential stories
- Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
- Commercially astute, strategic thinker with a big-picture mindset
