About the Role
Our Opportunity
We are currently looking for a capable Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated team at our Puhoi Valley dairy manufacturing site in the north of Auckland. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will provide high quality mechanical maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety compliance and improving the operational effectiveness of the site.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
- Undertake preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance tasks to minimize production downtime and maximise operational efficiency and plant condition
- Respond quickly and effectively to resolve equipment faults and breakdowns
- Ensure machinery and plant is maintained to ensure optimum performance
- Support continuous improvement and reliability projects
- Maintain all site engineering documentation and plant logs, ensuring accuracy and up to date information is always available.
- Drive factory quality and SHE standards to ensure and demonstrate continued and sustainable improvement in safety for the site
- Attend after hours call-out when rostered on-call
Note: This is a 5 day fixed rostered shift but we have flexibility to offer Monday to Friday, or Tuesday to Saturday.
The successful applicant will have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- GMP and food safety understanding
- Strong root cause analysis for timely breakdown resolutions
- HS&E knowledge, including machinery guarding
- Experience in Food and FMCG manufacturing (desirable)
- Experienced fitter (Conveyors, pumps, motors, sprockets, bearing, gears and pneumatics)
