About the Opportunity
Currently we are seeking a Senior Category Manager to join our Grocery business which includes Spreads, Oils, Flavour Enhancers & In Home Baking portfolios. Working on many of our household brands Praise, MeadowLea, White Wings, Pampas & CSR Sugar just to name a few. This role is responsible for leading the category strategy and customer relationship between Goodman Fielder and retail partners to drive long term profitable growth of our business.
Specifically, you will:
- Be category expert and lead for the GF business, with deep knowledge and understanding of the category and competitive landscape across the Retail and Foodservice channels
- Develop and embed Category Strategy to drive long term sustainable growth opportunities and category health across the Retail and Foodservice channels
- Translate category, portfolio and brand insights into growth opportunities for GF
- Support teams to deliver key range review milestones & outcomes
- Support Portfolio & Marketing, Retail Sales and Foodservice Sales functions to successfully bring NPD and key activations to market
- Lead price and promotion strategy in collaboration with RGM function
- Lead and develop 1 direct report
What you will need
- 5+ years at Category Manager position in FMCG environment
- 2+ years at National Account Manager position in FMCG environment (optional)
- Tertiary qualification in related field
- Proficiency across IRI (Aztec), Quantium, Microsoft 365 and Unify platforms
- High level of Strategic thinking, being able to translate internal and external insights into compelling stories and action plans
- Demonstrated experience in developing robust category strategy that connects internal profitable growth with external category growth and development.
- End to end value chain thinking – You understand the end to end functional interdependencies and commercial levers to optimise activities and decisions
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management (essential)
