Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Test Lead with a strong background in SAP to join our team based in Townsville. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of our systems.
This role has been created to support the Wilmar Sugar & Renewables Business, commencing with the SAP CanePay project to replace a legacy system with SAP functionality. Your responsibility will be to develop detailed test plans, work with developers to correct defects and ensure the defect management process is adhered to. You will work closely with the development team, project managers and stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement in testing practices.

We own and operate eight sugar factories across the Herbert, Burdekin, Proserpine and Sarina regions and employ more than 2,000 people during the annual sugar production season.
We are one of Australia's largest generators of renewable electricity from biomass and one of only two bioethanol producers in Australia. We are also the largest sugarcane grower in Australia and a leading supplier of sustainable liquid fertiliser and stockfeed products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the project team in planning, executing, and managing test activities specifically for SAP projects (SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP Fiori, etc.).
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for SAP modules and integrations based on business requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with SAP functional and technical teams to understand business processes and technical configurations, ensuring test coverage of all critical business scenarios.
- Execute different types of testing (functional, regression, integration, UAT, performance) for SAP applications.
- Manage and coordinate defect triage processes, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Utilize SAP-specific testing tools such as SAP Solution Manager, HP ALM, and others to execute and manage test cases and defects.
- Mentor and guide junior testers on SAP testing best practices and provide technical leadership to the QA team.
- Drive the implementation of test automation frameworks and scripts for SAP applications to enhance testing efficiency.
- Establish and maintain test metrics, dashboards, and status reports to communicate testing progress and quality status to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP releases, patches, and testing tools, and continuously improve SAP testing processes.
Essential:
- Extensive experience delivering testing on complex enterprise projects, under aggressive timelines with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with SAP products, GTM preferred.
- Experience working on integration projects, especially with SAP.
- Proven experience in delivering test plans, test scenarios, test cases, reports and effective defect management.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop detailed UAT test plans and assist the business and users in carrying out UAT testing.
- Assist team members to track and correct software bugs and defects.
- Ensure test plans are agreed with the project manager / business analyst and align with the software solution timeline.
- Ensure test cases cover all agreed test scenarios and comply with industry best practice.
- Ability to lead and mentor others in testing techniques, methods and systems.
- Contribution to the continuous improvement of testing processes and practices.
Desirable:
- Minimum of 5 years proven ability to successfully test large-scale IT software systems
- Experience with agile methodology advantageous
- Excellent written, oral and presentation communication stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with UI Path or other software testing systems would be advantageous
- This role would be ideally located in the Townsville office with a work from home option when agreed with management.
