About the opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Distribution Team Leader to join our Townsville baking site. The Distribution Team Leader is a key member of the Supply Chain team with responsibility for the delivery of the Supply Chain and Operations plan whilst on site. All Distribution Team Leaders are responsible to embrace and drive positive change and are accountable to strive toward great team culture and department efficiencies. They will be guided in developing high team performance through training to deliver compliance in safety, quality, plan attainment and cost standards. In addition, they will take part in leading the distribution team toward continuous improvement techniques and refining the sites FMCG practices.
The shift pattern available:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 11.00am - 7.00pm
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leads a small team of 5 through dispatching operations and loading / unloading of outbound linehaul
- Ensures the Distribution Team achieves daily tasks and KPI's.
- Understands capacity requirements & set timelines, making sure staff fully adhere to operational systems & procedures
- Effective management of all department processes
- Ensure materials are requisitioned, and usage is to standard & variances are identified & subsequently rectified in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure all production, safety and quality reporting requirements are supplied in an accurate & timely manner
- Participate in daily meetings & ensure that all relevant information is provided to direct reports
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- 2 years team Leadership experience
- Related industry experience (preferably within the food, dairy, beverage industry)
- Computer skills – Microsoft Office, SAP experience preferrable
- Leadership and Communication
- Logical, analytical and problem solving abilities
- Planning and organizing
