We're searching for an experienced Category Manager to lead the strategic customer relationship between Goodman Fielder and our Retail and Foodservice partners. This is a high visibility role responsible for driving sustainable category growth, unlocking insights, and shaping our portfolio strategy across two critical channels.
As a key leader within the Portfolio function, you'll champion GF's cultural imperatives and play a pivotal role in delivering commercially successful outcomes.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio, the Category Manager is responsible for developing and embedding long term category strategies, driving actionable insights, and influencing internal and external stakeholders to optimise performance across our baking portfolio.
You'll collaborate closely across Portfolio & Marketing, Sales, Activation, and Finance to ensure seamless execution of programs and initiatives.
- Act as GF's category expert, with deep understanding of category dynamics, competitive landscape, and trade environments across Retail and Foodservice.
- Develop and embed Category Strategy to drive sustainable growth and category health.
- Translate insights into actionable growth opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support key range review submissions, ensuring alignment to strategy and commercial priorities.
- Partner with Portfolio, Marketing and Sales teams to bring NPD and activations successfully to market.
- Lead category elements of price and promotions strategy with the RGM team.
About You
You bring strong commercial capability, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. You are passionate about understanding consumers, customers, and market trends — and turning insights into competitive advantage.
- 5+ years as a Category Manager within FMCG
- 2+ years in a National Account Manager or comparable commercial role
- Tertiary qualifications (Degree level)
- Strong commercial and analytical acumen
- Advanced capability with IRI/Aztec, Circana and Quantium
- Demonstrated strength in managing internal & external stakeholders
