Job Description
Our Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Fitter / Engineer to join our dedicated team at GF Darwin. Reporting to the Reliability Team Leader, you will provide high quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on improving the operational effectiveness of the site.
Shift pattern: Day Shift
Tues 10:00am - 6:00pm, Wed 8:00am-4:00pm, Thurs 8:00am-4:00pm, Fri 10:00am-6:00pm, Sat 6:00am-2:00pm
Key accountabilities of the role include:
- Undertake scheduled planned maintenance tasks including planned activities
- Attend and resolve unplanned maintenance tasks including breakdowns
- Ensure machinery and plant is maintained to ensure optimum performance
- Perform general mechanical, motor and conveyor repairs
- Maintain all site engineering documentation and plant logs, ensuring accuracy and up to date information is available at all times.
- Drive factory quality and SHE standards to ensure and demonstrate continued and sustainable improvement in safety for the site
- Assist in preparing site when required for external and regulatory audits
- Assist the Engineering Manager to manage all mechanical and electrical control hazards on the hazard register to ensure they are closed out within agreed timeframes
- Ensure all breakdowns are communicated to the Engineering Manager
- Ensure all PM work is completed and compliant in the CMMS
- Provide timely and complete reports to the Engineering Manager as required
The successful applicant will have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Machine/Welding
- GMP and food safety understanding
- Strong root cause analysis for timely breakdown resolutions
- HS&E knowledge, including machinery guarding
- Experience in Food and FMCG manufacturing (desirable)
- Experienced fitter (Conveyor belts, motors, sprockets, bearing, gears and pneumatics)
