The Opportunity:
As the SHEQ Coordinator in our small, tight-knit facility, you'll work hand-in-hand with our dedicated team to foster a culture of excellence. You'll be at the forefront of our efforts to maintain the highest standards of safety, health, environmental sustainability, and quality assurance, all while enjoying the support and camaraderie of a close, collaborative work family.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
You will provide Site Operations with basic advice and technical support to continuously reduce workplace injuries, illnesses, SH&E incidents and environmental incidents;
- Lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Maintain and develop site specific SHEQ plans and risk registers
- Drive GMP awareness and adherence across site
- Manage complaint investigations and address quality, food safety and environmental issues
- Oversee the implementation of corrective and preventative actions
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety, occupational health and safety, and environmental regulations
- Manage and deploy mandatory employee training programs for safety and quality
- Collaborate closely with all team members to integrate best practices into daily operations
- Role Model and champion safety/quality across the site
About you:
- Proven experience working in a safety or quality, preferably in food manufacturing space.
- Competence in relevant software applications word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and electronic mail applications
- In-depth knowledge of workers compensation regulations and food safety standards, OHS &/or Environmental or Quality Auditing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Proficient in personal time management, project management with the ability to work under pressure
- Skilled in investigation, problem solving, data analysis, and report writing (audit, incident).
- Ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement
- A growth mindset with a passion for delivering results quickly and effectively
- Thrives in a small, collaborative work environment and enjoys being part of a close-knit team
- Adaptable and willing to wear multiple hats as needed in a small site setting
