About the opportunity:

We are seeking someone to become a cottage cheese maker at our Longburn site reporting to the Process Manager. You will be involved in the day to day running of the cottage cheese room. The hours of work are, 42hrs per week working one week on days followed by one week on nights.

The successful applicant will need to be flexible as the shift pattern can alter each week to meet production demands. Given the fluctuating product volumes some overtime will be required.

This role is not limited to cottage cheese and the successful applicant may also be required to train in one of the other control room positions like: Fermentation, Mix room, Kalo plant, dairy desserts/ Ferm9 or milk reception.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

• Ensuring our H & Safety practices are adhered to.
• Checking all relevant paperwork is completed.
• Maintaining a high level of Plant cleanliness.
• Receiving milk, culturing and setting the vat.
• Cooking the vat, mixing in and sending finished product to the filler.
• Help with other jobs as required.

The successful applicant will have: 

• Computer literacy.
• Be quality conscious and customer focused.
• Problem solving skills and the ability to work in well with other departments.
• A Medical (and history) assessment to be completed.
• Be Physically fit to do a physically demanding role
