Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Category Planning Manager is an integral part of our planning team and Supply Chain function, responsible for the Sales and Operations Planning of their categories. The Category Planning Manager is the expert in the assigned categories with complete ownership end to end, of demand through to supply delivering key demand, supply and inventory metrics.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Accurately forecasting demand for the category using the prescribed ERP and demand planning tools
  • Is the central co-ordination point for categories within the business
  • Purchasing and procurement of third party manufactured products to support demand
  • Coordinates manufacturing site supply to ensure demand is met (including MPS if required)
  • Manage and maintain excellent relationships with domestic suppliers
  • Management of risk including problem solving and issue resolution
  • Ensure the timely shipping and clearance of all international goods into New Zealand
  • Manage and balance the stock of our Distributions Centres and manufacturing sites
  • Ensuring all S&OP processes are met including forecast, site and supplier reviews
  • Contributing to the on-going development of the planning process.

About You

Success in this role will come from someone with enthusiasm, excellent attention to detail and a passion for achieving results at all times.  In addition, you will ideally have:

  • Experience utilising demand planning software in an ERP system, preferably SAP ECC
  • Previous experience in a Demand Planning or similar role within an FMCG environment, preferably using SAP APO
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Advanced Excel and analytic skills, preferably using BW
  • A passion for delivering exceptional service and understanding the importance of stakeholder management for internal and external client base
  • An inquisitive manner aiming to constantly review and improve processes
  • A Diploma or Bachelor degree in relevant field is a distinct advantage.
